Unprofessional and poor service - avoid

I worked through Exact for a year, with various issues with pay. I was out of contract for some months and them went to sign back in with them with a different end client. I told them I needed to contribute to SIPP as I had done for the year; they said fine. I had a call the following day to say they only do SIPP contributions for existing contractors. I explained that I was, still had valid login etc, but they still said they wouldn't do SIPP. And I only find out this by asking why they missed the SIPP in the illustration. They were very unprofessional, and given the pay issues previously I would avoid altogether.

Fantastic service since joined in 2020.

Never any issues with exact, staff are always very helpful and very professional. Will continue to use in 2023.

THIS COMAPNY HAS PAID FOR FAKE GOOGLE REVIEWS.

At the time of writing, this company has 56 Google reviews. At least 32 are fake (5 star reviews). That leaves 24 which may be real (a couple of 5 star, the rest 1 star). Do you want to trust your money to a company that buys fake reviews and still can't get above a 3.8 rating on Google?

Not Happy With Company

Payments not paid at same time. One day its 7am, the next week its 4pm if you’re lucky to be paid at all! No warning of delays, no apologies. And oh yes, your weekly take home will start decreasing after a few weeks of joining them.

AVOID THEM AT ALL COST FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND

What a Joke of a Payroll company!!!! Been with them for about 6 months, They promise the whole world at the start to get you registered, Take Home Pay % was ok at the Start BUT, after Two months, Take Home Pay % start to decrease every week there after... Call in and asked about this, No one can give a proper explanation on the issue. Only answer they give is “We got nothing to do with it, We input everything into our System and it does everything...” They would not challenge their system, even if there is a mistake. Very rude, incompetent and condescending staff... What the Agency, I work through see in them- I don’t know!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬 To recommend to me🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ Totally Regretted ever going near them. They are happy to Take their Cut And F@&k u in the Process. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Excellent company. Professional, friendly and excellent support. The system was simple, setup was easy. I receive a text message confirming everything is processed and in good order. My pay has arrived on time, I have not had one single issue. Superb.

1st class organisation

I lead a team of contractors on a site and we needed a compliant and respected payroll company. Having been given a number of recommendations we registered with Exact. They do exactly what they say they will do. Easy to use technology, paid 100% accurately and nothing is ever a problem for them. Top class 👍👍

1st class service

I have a team of workers on a project and I was recommended Exact payroll. They have been fabulous from day 1. The system is easy to navigate, you get a text to state how much you are getting each week and paid 100% on time. Very happy to recommend them to the wider contracting world

Terrible company

The most useless umbrella company ever worked with. They got my setting wrong and did not pay me my holiday pay. I keep calling them to get my money, but still couldn't get it. Stay away from this company for your own good.

They've cost me thousands

Trust me, you do not want to go with this umbrella. Months of problems, incorrect payslips, missing money. I don't know what they did, but I now have a huge HMRC tax bill due to their incorrect calculations. Pick anyone but this lot. You will save yourself a lot of time and stress.

Get everything wrong

It is difficult to understand how one company can get so much wrong. They never answer the phone. If you do speak to someone, they can never help you and say someone will call you back. No one ever calls back. They constantly get pay wrong and they just cannot run a pension contribution properly. They make promises they don't keep. No one takes responsibility or sees anything through. They have neither the knowledge, skills or customer service needed.

Avoid at all cost

I have been with Exact since June 21, and have has a poor experience with them throughout. They were taking pension contributions from me, after I had requested not to join the Smart pension scheme; after checking with Smart pensions no payment had been forwarded to them from Exact, I called Exact on four separate occasions to request a refund and was told someone would look into it and call me back, no one ever did. Another time I submitted expenses and they deducted tax and NI, and paid these net to me, they also did this with my colleague. I am now looking for another umbrella company as I have had enough of them getting things wrong.

They make me feel sad every Friday

I have to call twice to get paid. This week, I feel extremely sad, I am stranded without anything on me. Exact did not pay me, after I had put several calls forward. The hope of going to work next week is also dashed. This is the worst company I have ever used. I regretted!

An alleged IT upgrade for 3 days? I do hope they haven't fallen foul of the current industry issues and are not being transparent about it.... Terrible customer service. No one can help. You call and are told "I will take a message and pass it on". No one ever calls back and when you ask to speak to Management the answer is always "they are busy in meetings"

Genuinely Awful

Where to begin: Errors with payslips every month. You then call and end up getting through to an inexperienced person who can't help you and says someone will come back to you - they never do. I've got payslips that don't add up with lines that don't make sense and even their Head of Payroll could not explain to me what it meant. I've had an issue outstanding for 7 weeks, and everytime Exact try to fix it they manage to create a different issue (including messing up my pension contributions and tax). Three weeks ago their CEO promised me all would be fixed in 2 days. 2 weeks ago their Head of Payroll promised me all would be fixed the same day. The last week they've all gone quiet and won't respond to emails or calls. Skip the pain and skip this Umbrella.

Amateurs

I recognise what others have said. One look at Linkind shows a company of about 20, most of who have been in post for less than a year. Every time you call you speak to someone new and no one has a clue what is going on. Simple things go wrong and no one ever calls back of answers emails. Avoid

Dreadful Service

They get pay wrong and take no responsibility. Promised call backs never take place and issues go on for months. Most of the staff have only been there a few months and it shows - very few have any ability to help or fix anything. Heed the advice and steer clear

Inexperienced staff, poor processes and terrible customer service

A small company, with staff who appear to be new to their roles. Staff are poorly trained, inexperienced and have no understanding of customer service. Sales people make empty promises, payroll and accounts make constant errors then blame each other. Everyone relies on a single, archaic system and no one takes responsibility when the inevitable errors occur. In discussions with the CEO it became clear that the majority, if not all of the staff, rely on "Computer says...". No one is able to explain how things are calculated and the regularly repeated line is "well the system says ..." Avoid unless you want to spend hours each month calculating things yourself and chasing them constantly to take action and make corrections.

their it system is very poor and it only work with one password which will be given by payroll people and they will ask not to change since it won't work if you changed to any password. Very poor in replying to query

I raised an issue on 20 August regarding a significant issue with my pay - 2 months later and a) is it not resolve; 2) I have not been paid since. Avoid at all costs.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Not only did i have chase almost every day for payments that had not been made to me for a whole month, but i also had to do my own reconciliation and investigation as to what the amounts owed to me were. After millions of emails back and forth with the recruitment agency and exact payroll and millions of phone calls later it was corrected, they have caused me 2 weeks of pure anxiety and distress. When you do ask them a straight forward question you get a completely difference answer. At one point they got me confused with another contractor Very unprofessional Very rude Very incompetent Do not sign up with them if you are reading this

Wordt company I have ever dealt with. Was told daily take home will be £110pd i barely make £70pd. Every week my wages are less regardless of mevwirk 5 days every week Their scripted excuse is it the tax element. I feel as if I have lost the will to live because of Exact payroll. I would like my wages to be reviewed

This company is honestly a car crash. I feel sorry for the workers on the phone who are “admin” who have to deal with payroll queries when they are not processing the payroll. You can never get through to payroll they make admin speak on their behalf. Then next week you call and it’s a completely different person in admin! Very high turn over of staff. Management need to look at themselves.

Not to be trusted when dealing with problems take hidden extras out of pay I earned nearly 700 pounds they paid me 415 said it was my fault I pressed wrong button on form it turned out they took hidden extras basically a fee to work for them even jds agency wasn’t aware I had to pay a fee they just took it

Haven't been paid, it's really the only thing they need to do! They haven't even bothered to invoice my agency. Terrible customer service, although they do reply promptly but only with excuses and no answers. Dreadful onboarding, I don't even know how much to expect to be paid.

After joining Exact 5 weeks ago I can honestly say that they are already turning out to be a great fit for me, I choose between them and a few others off the FCSA list and I'm really glad I choose Exact, They have been so transparent in all departments. I called in this morning to sort out a query I have and they dealt with it in what I believe is very quik. Keep up the good work guys!! Sam x

After starting with exact Payroll 1 and half years ago I found the staff friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to support their staff and clients, especially during this pandemic. I found them to be the most supportive and helpful team I have ever worked with in the 40+ years of working. Especially Alicia and a few other staff members I have dealt with. I would definately recommend their services and use them for my own person business endeavours. Thank you to Alicia and all the team!

Exact Payroll have been the best payroll company I have ever dealt with in my 40 year working life. They go above and beyond my expectations to support their staff and colleagues. I had immediate correspondence regarding the JRS and was paid correctly and in a timely way.

Absolutely over the moon! I received my first furlough payment last week based on minimum wage only to receive a second payment today, I called Exact to see why it was a lower amount than last week only to be told it was a top up from last weeks payment as they are now paying 80% on everything not just minimum wage, I really didn't expect a back payment! I cant thank them enough... well done Exact!

I have been with exactpayroll for around 3 years and would like to take this opportunity to say how very efficient your company has been for me, I am using the umbrella system which allows me to be able to claim mileage expenses, the company has been so efficient you have even sorted out the furlough payment through the government for me. I am always paid on time and there are never any problems that cannot be sorted out very quickly but these problems are very rare and you are always at the end of the phone willing to help with any queries , I`ve used other payroll company`s but I have found exactpayroll to be my company of 1st choice for excellence and efficiency and I will continue to use you for as long as I possibly can, keep up the good work, Thanks so much, Andrew Ford
