Division: Engineering
Stand to lose experienced engineers many of whom have far greater experience and time on type than permie staff. Will make managing the peaks and troughs that this sectors sees difficult to manage.

No help or advice from either Shorterm or Bombardier, all contractors must either go PAYE or through shorterm's selected umbrella companies. Impossible to get through to anyone at either company as phone calls are never answered and emails are ignored. Assessments were never offered to any contractor in any department and blanket "inside" judgements have been given to every contractor regardless of role or situation. Shorterm also tried to change everyone's contracts a week early (26th March) to put everyone on this new PAYE/Umbrella scheme. There will be a mass exodus of contractors from Bombardier in April, guaranteed.

Fair discussion and assessment, leading to an agreeable outcome for both parties. Very pleased!

Been advised by agent that there will be a ban on PSCs from 6 April. Some contractors like myself will be leaving. Projects likely to be impacted.

Permanent roles only
Division: Software Development
I had 2 extensions on my original contract. My "Line Manager" requested a 6 month extension last time and it was refused, I was given 3 months instead falling short of the April 2020 IR35 implementation and IR35 was quoted as the reason. They did work on offering me a permanent role within the company which after a few days thought I declined.
