Unfair IR35 assessment
Blanket assessment, no consultation, CEST tool used to determine status. PSC's are still permitted though. 50% of contractors leaving, will have a large impact on projects.

They used the government assessment tool. They also used their own legal team to check the contract was properly set up for outside IR35 upon renewal. It's a nice place to work, with a good atmosphere. Contractors are not leaving at this point, although they are also outsourcing some work to offshore development companies, so I'm not sure how many new contracts there will be.

It has been decided that it will be a blanket ban even though they are clearly hiring 'consultants' to help achieve a defined output and an end goal which should be outside of IR35.

Took a very long time, lots of rumours about a blanket ban but contract was eventually independently reviewed by an external party and found to be outside of IR35! Result. It's not that hard is it! A fair review is all that is required.

Qdos undertaking assessments which is good, only sting in the tail is that the initial assessment is free, but if you have to be reassessed the contractor foots the bill...

Complete blanket assessment, in conjunction with HCL. No individual assessment. Projects are being severely impacted with many contractors moving on. Not really a surprise.
