Qdos’s involvement has been shameful, they’re only in it for the money knowing all the assessments would result in inside determinations. Total collusion with Anglo. All the projects were totally sgamboluc to begin with but they’re even worse off now

Everyone inside, whoever said they were fairly assessed is obviously a manager

Assessment via QDOS, however at least 3 questions have preselected answers such as (substitution, mandatory training and so on). The answers that are fixed by the client have very heavy weight in determining your status. To my knowledge everyone is inside IR35, the assessment is for the show and has nothing to do with actual outcome. All contractors are INSIDE.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Division: Beyond Finance
All inside IR35. The assessments are done for the sake only not in spirit. Instead of told by Anglo American and they used to QDOs who are working for money rather than giving the fair evaluation. Same contract assessment performed by QDOs was outside when I asked to reviewed independently. Now part of Anglo assignment it is inside with the comments from Anglo. It is a tick box exercise to show that they are fair employer.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Regardless of what is currently in your contract, Anglo have moved the goal posts. Looks like everyone has had the same outcome from the QDOS questionnaire regardless of what you answered. Since the result, radio silence on what happens next.

Good support for working from home, no problems though many seem to be working longer hours in lieu of commuting.

Unfair IR35 assessment
QDOS used for assessments however a number of answers on the questionnaire were fixed by the client including substitution (not allowed). Blanket 'inside IR35' decision for most if not all.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Division: IM
Anglo are using Qdos to do the assessments but it’s just artificial, I believe they think it makes them look like they’re doing the assessments properly but the reality is 10 of the most important questions in Qdos’ assessment are pre canned and cannot be changed. No substitutions permitted (even though they’re allowed in everyone’s current contract). So there is only one outcome and that’s everyone is inside IR35 as Anglo intended. I’m very disappointed in Qdos’ involvement and how they’ve allowed Anglo to do this just to pick up the assessment fees. I won’t be renewing my insurance with Qdos as a result- what short term thinking, I thought Qdos were better than that.

There haven't been any assessments, PSCs have just been banned without much thought. All the best people have left or are leaving, the projects were already delayed but will now be further delayed.

Risk averse approach taken by the company. Asked all to work through MSP/Umbrella Post April. Some contractors have left others would be forced to close down their companies as not much work available in the market that is outside. Not at a good rate at least. Most Project statuses marked as red due to the uncertainty.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Heard that agent has been involved in assessments. Considering agent is "fee payer", not expecting any outside determinations. Still waiting for an assessment.

They claim to be assessing fairly but it seems impossible to get an outside IR35 determination and no justification has yet been given.

Emailed to all contrators saying everyone will be working through same MSP/Umbrella which anglo decides. They will cut PAYE/NI at source(irrespective of whatever your IR35 status) as they will not take any risk. They are not increasing any rates and not paying Employers NI too. Eveything will be taken from Employee day rate without any benefits. How is this fare tax.

They are taking a long time to get their act together, even after being warned several months ago. Projects will be halted because of all developer contractors leaving.

Blanket assessment inside IR35. Those currently in a contract who choose to go through an umbrella will have a reduced rate to pay for NI. They will also be charged commission.
