No compensation / rate uplift for contractors now having to pick up the Employer’s NIC, apprenticeship levy and Umbrella company charges. They are resigned to using companies like TCS as a body shop. Needless to say I turned the role down.

A communication has been released by Yash today advising that the Bank is changing its contractual arrangements with its suppliers to require all personnel who provide services for the ultimate benefit of Deutsche Bank to be engaged under a PAYE contract from 6th April 2021 onwards. Sub-contracting services via other types of engagement models, including personal service companies (PSCs), will no longer be an acceptable approach for suppliers who deliver services to the Bank. This contractual amendment issued by the Bank affects all consultants – regardless of engagement model. This new contractual obligation from the Bank means Yash simply cannot engage with consultants who work via a PSC for delivery of their services to the Bank from 6th April onwards.

Contracting via another multinational service provider, service provider was told that any contractors they use must be under PAYE or perm employees of the sub contactor. No choice offered to review or assess contracts

They've had a year to address this but it's obvious they have taken the path of least resistance again and implemented a full PSC ban. Feeling annoyed that they invested no effort in alternative solutions but more annoyed with HMRC/current government for their continued anti-business stance. Also there is a 45 week max tenure for some reason meaning we'll all be off-boarded next christmas. Nearly every contractor I know is waiting for 'outside ir35 only' contracts and then will jump ship. No love lost here.....

Deutsche Bank have announced that they are not entertaining LtdCo / PSC contracts from 1st April 2012, and any work offers to contractors will be on a PAYE only basis.

Back to the PSC ban before April arrives. PAYE only contracts. Will only hire for a 12 month period to prevent employees receiving any workers rights, nice to see this bank is in favor of Zero rights employment. Very unlikely to be hiring perm due to the current climate. I'll be looking to contract into Europe.
