Unfair IR35 assessment
Division: Nuclear
They will not accept the HMRC CEST as a valid assessment. They have devised their own criteria through Grant Thornton. We have not been able to see such an assessment. Projects affected. Contractors leaving. Staff management mocking contractors in IR35 briefings. Totally unprofessional and not following IR35 legislation.

IR35 fairly assessed
Division: Engineering
All assessed using external Tool (Grant Thornton). Given an individual sds today stating “self employed”... shows various factors such as MOO direction and control, part and parcel, financial risk etc etc. Gives score on each x% staff y % self employed x+y=100. I’m assessed self employed as are all those I know. Fair and proportionate assessments, individual SDS questionnaire interview... good communications, they haven’t rushed things and have done a good job in my opinion in difficult circumstances... other less balanced clients should look on and hang their heads in shame and reap the business to business retribution their psc service providers will serve on them. Atmosphere much better today after many pensive weeks and months.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Division: Engineering
Assessed as self employed, but disagree with some outcomes from their Grant Thornton tool. No opportunity to change their opinion, no decision made on my contract after 13th March. Hundreds of roles being offshored to India though, so looks grim. Lots of guys looking to EU for new roles.
