No discussion on determination. Inside or nowt. Though aware they are engaging foreign PSCs so not a complete ban. Employer NI deducted from agreed rate. Pointed out that this was not legal. They were unresponsive. Currently looking for other work.

Similarly to last year, Cavendish have selected CEST responses to guarantee an inside IR35 determination. No recognition of working practices or consultation before or during the assessment. Cavendish's acknowledge to a challenge states that they won't even review the challenge until after 6th April. A blanket ban in all but name and a message to contractors to take it or leave it.

Apparently assessed role not worker, many are inside but hearing about a fair few outside as well. Think projects will be impacted long term but not huge amount out there for those deemed inscope

PSC Ban from Jan31st. Rate reduction almost exactly in line with Employers NI which I've pointed out is unethical and possibly tacitly illegal. Will be jumping ship as soon as.

PSC ban. No consultation. I've been offered payment alternatives, none of which are palatable. They have also taken the opportunity to try to negotiate my rate down on the sly, which is absurd. Fortunately they are the only supplier to have taken the PSC ban approach, currently, so I am shifting client to one of the fair ones. Offer already accepted. Goodbye Jacobs, you're added to the list of companies I'll never work for again. Goodbye NRL who have been garbage - nothing but complicit and collaborative with Jacobs, no support to contractors. Don't forget where your % fee came from and good luck coping with modest finders fees in future, assuming that not everybody discovers that clients advertise the same contracts directly on LinkedIn these days. Cut out the middle man contractors, agents are obsolete in the modern world. Get a better rate by cutting out unnecessary agents fees.

No negotiating, all agency contractors must go through umbrella company.

They have not fairly assessed their consultants and are not willing to entertain a scope of works.

Surprise surprise, from blanket inside, contrived assessments to a total u-turn. Very embarrassing and a lot of good people lost by not using a proper advisor like QDOS.

Blanket assessment of all (approx 150 people) all been deemed inside, there is an appeal process but, Jacob's are putting everyone inside scope.

8th March and still no determination for Jacobs contractors . Morale starting to suffer and some leaving. Not complying with HMRC guidance.

No individual assessment was done, went for blanket assessment. around 30% of contractors are leaving and remaining going Perm.

Role based assessment by someone I had to introduce myself to! Needless to say I will be leaving at the earliest opportunity. There will be a massive impact on the project, with an number of other contractors following suit.

Got my SDS from worley today using IR35 shield. Classed as outside.

Received a badly written letter telling me a risk assessment had been completed, no CEST applied, and assessment based on my role and not working practices. No SDS yet but told we can make a challenge over next two weeks. This will cripple this project as already years late. Atmosphere terrible

An individual assessment, my arse! Everyone go told the same story. With one manager saying if you ain’t happy and you cause a fuss you may find yourself reported for avoidance!

Blanket assessments carried out by a tinpot employment agent that no one’s heard of who were told to push everyone inside regardless of the facts. Just watch the mass exodus!

Very angry, don't believe they've assessed via any tools, or fairly, and have advised that contractors seek advice re. paye vs umbrella

Jacobs claim to have done individual assessments. But this is untrue. In my case they did not even know what I did. Sounds more like blanket determinations which are incorrect carry errors. Companies need to rethink or those that can will walk.

Blanket decision confirmed. No individual assessments will be made. Choice given of PAYE / Umbrella PAYE or Staff. Concerning.

No one knows what the outcome will be, been informed by agent that the determination will be completed by the hiring manager at the end of January. Looks like they are doing individual assessments though!
