From 6th April 2020, UK agency workers will be engaged on a PAYE only basis. Since early January Morrisons have been working with their external tax advisers KPMG to assess the likely tax employment status for those roles currently filled by contractors. As a result of this review, they have concluded that: 2. For the remainder of contract roles in Technology, for services performed on and from 6 April 2020, Morrisons will only engage contractors working on a PAYE basis through an umbrella company or agency payroll (and not through a personal service company). Because those roles will not be “off-payroll” from that date, there will be no formal status determination statement. Morrisons consider agency workers to be a vital part of their workforce. This decision was made following a thorough assessment of their work practices. It will ensure Morrisons complies with the updated legislation and considers both the impact on Morrisons and the people working with them....... inform them by 16 March 2020 whether you want to remain working with Morrisons.......At this time there is no increase in rate available
