Blanket ban on Ltd - must use umbrella. Contracts tend to be short. Was told to work 9 to 5 despite permies all on Flexi. Never experienced that before in 10+ years of public sector working.

Shocking misinformation internally with opinion based decisions depending on the manager. One won't even consider using the assessment or changing working practices to allow for an outside determination. Says he doesn't agree and all roles should be inside. Will only discuss fixed term contracts. Leaving on amicable terms but I wont be coming back.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Division: A project
Poor communication. Toxic atmosphere of mistrust. Lip service to individual assessments with a party line of blanket psc bans. Many key contractors already left with more actively looking for other clients. No formal SDS.

IR35 fairly assessed
Division: Procurement
The procurement contractors are all going due to budget restraints. Heard that All roles are being individually assessed. That does not mean a guarantee of outside determinations. Still an unfair feeling of the permietractors in other departments getting away with it given their obvious behaviours that reflect badly giving the rest of the contractors a bad name.

Unfair IR35 assessment
Division: SOM
No individual assessment. Took a 6 month contract that was correctly checked and assessed as outside of IR35, now told that the role has been assessed and is inside.

Poor comms and lack of clear data from the Agent, told all was being done to clearly assess IR35, poorly assessed by anti-contractor managers. Assured that rates won’t change but assignment rate post April will be down 15% to cover Employers NIC, App levy, pension....savvy contractors are noticing, not all. Total disregard to discuss and split costs if needed. Will lose a lot of contractors.

Blanket ban here. Bona fide limited company contractors no longer welcome. As a true contactor I will be leaving.

OrangeGenie were involved in individual assessments, but NATS management decided on a blanket ban of PSCs. Contractors are leaving, atmosphere is downbeat

Contractors feel blind and contracts for some of us timed to finish end of march. No particular reason given. Lots of work still to do afterwards.

Blanket on all contractors, all regarded as inside IR35 and only option is PAYE or leave. Currently all contractors looking to lose between 20% - 40%. Told all contractors leaving would be replaced by Germans on expat deals. Also told by Gattaca that any appeal to their decision to inside IR35 status would be ignored. Final nail in the coffin is that in a company of 2000 people, permie roles will only be offered to German nationals. Really bleak outlook.
