Received email Friday 29th Jan stating contract will end on 28th or choose to go with one of their umbrellas
This change will mean that you become an employee of the umbrella company and will be eligible for employee benefits from that organisation. Your umbrella company will receive payment from CDW for any assignments you are placed on at your assignment rate. Employment costs and a weekly umbrella service fee will be deducted from this payment together with pension contributions (if applicable), and holiday pay. This leaves a gross salary figure which you will be paid in line with your current daily rate, although employee tax, employee’s NI and workplace pension contributions will be deducted from this.
CDW understands that some of the additional costs charged by umbrella companies relate to employment costs which, if you were employed by CDW directly, CDW would have paid. CDW will cover the current equivalent cost of these employment costs (Employer’s NI @ 13.8%; Apprenticeship Levy Fees @ 0.5%) in the assignment rate paid to the umbrella company.
