Allianz HR emailed all contractors this morning accusing us of tax EVASION!!! They have since backtracked and issued an apology saying it was due to short timescales!!! I’ve worked for a lot of companies as a permie and been engaged as a contractor for several more and never been treated like this. I’d already decided to leave but any contractor thinking of staying needs to consider carefully the implications of an accusation of criminal behaviour (despite the backtrack shows what sort of idiots they have in their HR). Still no SDS!!

No U-Turn, STILL NO SDS! Realistically there’s no time left for thorough appeal process. Everything left so late that contractors have been left with a choice of accept inside IR35 or leave.

Received notification of blanket ban on PSC’s. No one to one with anyone for an assessment prior. CEST tool used but no idea what was input as it wasn't carried out with us present. No word of inside or outside, just the PSC ban and options of move to agency/umbrella combo with paye on current rate or direct temporary worker with ~20% rate drop plus paye. Immediately gave notice for end of march termination of my contract, and likely sooner dependant on securing an outside IR35 position. Likely to have a huge impact on operations immediately from April, with growing problems as the summer schedule takes hold as most if not all contractors are now looking elsewhere.

Told today, ban on LTD contractors. Initially seemed to be doing it properly. But then realized they couldn’t just tick the CEST boxes they want to put you inside. Contract is a strong outside contract. Offered permanent in the payroll employee without interview. PAYE through agency or go. Seems like a parent company decision to blanket ban. Disappointing but not surprised. Approx 60 contractors going plus a lot of their own staff....around 15% of their engineers. And already very short staffed. Lone managers can’t cope.

British Airways performed cest tool with the new HMRC guidelines. Initially the contracts with BA put all contracts out side IR35. But BA made a corporate desicion not to deal with PSC's post 6April.

Delays in issuing determination statements. No one to one carried out so don’t know what methods they are using to asses. Hoping for the best but fearing this is all too late so will be given blanket inside determinations. Don’t know how much longer they can leave it. Rediculous that my livelihood hangs in the balance of a corporate decision wether risk averse or fair. BA seem like a very good company Wholly HMRC to blame, they have put companies in this horrendous position and are getting exactly what they want. LTD paying tax they should not be paying. Can almost hear the class action lawsuit radio ads now. If all contractors leave may well put The Whole airline in precarious position as already woefully short of engineers to sign off aircraft. Again, wholly the fault of HMRC. The consequences of IR35 are, as yet, unknown

6 weeks to go and despite many promises of SDS in December, January none forthcoming. Little communication and if the worst happens leaving contractors very little time to make life changing decisions. Very stressful.

Baker Hughes will have looked to GE for guidance who have brought in blanket policies. Apparently all contracts are individually assessed, but none have been deemed outside.
