I left Edward Thomas in 2023 after 9 months with them and having constant issues - overpaid, underpaid, missing payments, late payments, student loan and pension payments not made properly. I was having to phone them so often I started taking notes on a google document to keep my head straight with all the issues - it was 20 pages by the time I pulled the plug. I’ve since spent the last year dealing with HMRC and the student loan company trying to fix all the messes they made. They’re either terminally incompetent or criminal - hard to tell which.

This is excatly the same guy who was behind Payjump Ltd and was liquidated in 2015 at about the same time as ISJ Directions Ltd: https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/payjump Must have gone through 20 name changes since!!! And everytime people lose out, but not the main guy…

A company full of liars - everyone is in a meeting or just left. I had to prove multiple times people have not just left because I asked when they leave daily, and funnily enough once i said this I could speak to said person. I have been discriminated against because I am a Migrant - despite providing sharecode, biometric card, immigration acceptance letter, drivers license and many other supporting documents to prove my identity and right to work I was told on multiple occasions they cannot complete my application - I advised as I work in law that they need to speak to there legal team as that is all i need. They than sent me on a wild goose chase and failed to respond to me everytime I emailled or called. DO NOT USE THIS UMBRELLA COMPANY! The staff are lazy liars that lie to get out of simply transferring you - they want you to email so they can ignore it.Utter joke of a company - I even tried to ask if i can come to the office to hand in my documents and was told it is a data risk - A DATA RISK BY HANDING OVER PAPER IN THE RECEPTION. M

Recommended to me and have been brilliant for almost two years now, while I have been on contract. Everything from set up to monthly admin has been spot on, whether it's expenses, contract variations, notification of tax code changes, routine month end admin, payment and even chasing the odd unpaid timesheet - the service has been excellent. Really clear documentation, easy to navigate portal and extremely quick to answer emails and calls. Probably not the cheapest out there, but fees are competitive and you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Contract identifed as Outside IR35 back in mid 2023. Two months spent post interview setting up morson accounts, ID verification, security clearance, my company payroll details, etc, etc. Morson T&C's were ok apart from wanting to pass down to my company any HMRC IR35 assessment liability costs. This should stay with the intermediary and client and not the supplier. I was given the usual line of "no one else has queried this in the Outside IR35 contract T&C's". Perhaps no one else reads or understands the T&C's? I was informed the commercial director at Morson would not allow this amendment of the T&C's, so I had not choice but to walk. Big shame and a waste of many people's time and effort.

I've not been paid, yet again and I'm getting the same old script as last week. "There's a problem with the banking system and we don't have an estimate for when it will be fixed. The only difference this time is that the agents are starting to sound far less compassionate and far more robotic. No emotion or empathy, just the same script as before. My friend works as an senior for a bank and she's told me that they're definitely up to something dodgy. The problem is I daren't confront them because then they can decline my payment. If they don't stop doing this then I will make the agency aware of what they're trying to do and also file a complaint and take it an authority, in this case ombudsman.

This is the same people who ran Penguin Pay Umbrella, Howard Jones Payroll, Peterson James, and now they are calling themselves ET Outsource as Edward Thomas are under liquidation

As a contractors who works hard to pay half of the money to govt, decided to use Giant to process my payroll.. As soon as they started processing my payroll they doubled up their margin and now they are giving lame excuse saying they are striving to give better experience.. Bullshit... Bunch of liars

This is the second Friday that I have not been paid on time. I called them every day and they simply tell me that there's something wrong with the banking system but they can't tell me what it is. I got last weeks payment yesterday but I have yet to receive anything today. I have literally had to borrow money from a friends just to survive and I owe them that money, they expect it back. It's disgusting that they are keeping the money from those on SSP due to health reasons. It's not 8pm and I've still not received a payment. I am sitting here in the freezing cold because I can't afford heating. I'm having to decide between food or heating. If this is going to continue then I'll have to look to take legal action against them.

They are hard to get in touch with. Take weeks to do anything. Were late to submit my tax return. Would not reccomend.

My recruitment agency uses Azebra for payroll. I recently noticed that they are deducting from my pay, Employers NI, an increased admin fee, the apprentice levy fee, that to my understanding is illegal. There are a group of us who are seeking employment law advice, to sue for the return of unlawful charges.

Their customer service and admin team always answer very quickly and have gone above and beyond to help me solve particular details concerning my payment, where I would like to express a lot of appreciation for Amber, who in a matter of an hour after my initial email, swiftly solved a problem I was personally having with DWP, that involved speaking with DWP directly and making alterations to my payslip. Blanket approach to all contractors across the entire business this year. Illegal unethical and of course the good people will leave putting all their projects at risk….going back the way after they appeared to be fairly assessing individuals last year…moving on asap. I refuse to pay employers and employees NI, an apprenticeship levy as well as an umbrella fee out of my rate. Employee for tax purposes only? Get lost!

they say they need a utr to pay you and if not then has to be umbrella just a straight con of a payroll company want to take what they can off you, most payroll companies just do emergency tax at 30% which i can then claim back at end of the year but apparently they can't do it, yeah because you don't make feck all on it that's why, heartless basturds who should all burn in hell btw i can spell I've mispelt that so it isn't flagged set of bums, so f u set of tankers

be very careful. they have used this HYBRYD MODEL, have kept a lot of my earnings in their bank and paying to HMRC. the next financial year i have so much tax to pay, I nearly went bankrupt. They will not tell you about this model until is too late. Rubbers, they need investigating by OFcom.

I have never used an Umbrella before so I have phoned a few to understand how they work and the fees etc. Paystream was the only company to explain the tax side well and how the fees are calcualted and deducted. The illustration even took account of my actual tax code so was more accurate than the other firm's illustrations. I will use them for that alone. Also the girl on the phone was really friendly and not at all pushy.

Efficient setup. Umbrella was well explained. Received the Key Info Document plus their own pay illustration and a follow up call after first payment. Paid on Friday as stated and was close enough to the pay illustration. Excellent service.

The biggest bunch of cowboys. Arroganace and indifference and the one thing they are supposed to do, pay you correctly, due to lack of interest they bare incapable. I lost thousands becaue of them they payed to HMRC in error and I couldn't get it back! I got out and went to Paystream chalk and cheese.

I worked for Giant for less then a month!! I was supposed to be paid weekly for my contract. Nothing arrived in my account and they inform me no its now monthly! Then when I did get paid they took such a huge proportion it was not worth continuing and I had to chase and chase for that payment! To make matters worse I left Oct 17th since started a new job and GIANT still have not informed HMRC so I'm on a tax code thar means I pat 40% on ALL EARNINGS with a ZERO tax free allowance!! Literally biggest mistake signing up to them!
